Hi all, is anyone interested in visiting Bletchley Park in the
next month ? Although it's not SOE specific, although there was a lot done here which formed a part of the covert operations in WWII, and theres a lot of information and displays on view at BP which would provide an insight into the kind of secret and negative intelligence operations that were carried out. I'd be happy to provide a guided tour as I used to work here last year as a Volunteer. A Sunday would be best. Admissions are 8. It's only 30 minutes away up the M1. Let me know, Tony

The Displays and Collections available apart from Enigma and Battle of the Atlantic include:

(The Churchill collection alone makes the visit worthwhile.)

Airborne Command: The US Army Airborne Historical Display Group
Bombe Rebuild Project
Buckinghamshire Aircraft Recovery Group (BARG)
Churchill Collection
Colossus Rebuild Project
Communications Electronic Museum Trust
Computer Conservation Society (including History of Computing Exhibition)
Diplomatic Wireless Service
GB2BP Amateur Radio
Home Front
Leighton Buzzard Model Boat Club
Mills Collection of WWII Uniforms and Memorabilia
Motor Transport Section (Military Vehicles)
Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry Living History Group
65ste Nachrichten Abteilung (German Signals Battalion)
US Re-enactment Group 1941-45

Me and my G/F have been thinking of visiting Bletchley cause we are interested in that sort of stuff.

By the way, Charlotte Gray was an SOE sent into occupied France, but she was intelligence gathering only I think.

Movie is a good idea to the sort of stuff that went on in Occupied France

Funnily enough, you wouldnt look too out of place in these uniforms
in Bletchley Park, as theres plenty of Re-enacters around.

I feel that this would help us all get into role and make the roleplaying a more interactive experience.

WRT December 6th (next Sunday) -
Note that BP is open 10:30am-5pm. The last tour is 3:30 pm. I would suggest we aim to arrive no later than 12:00. Arriving at midday and having a quick lunch in the naafi, would then give us about 3 hours to wander around and
take a tour. Three hours is probably the right amount of time needed to
take most of it in. I'll get a count of hands on Wednesday to see if you
are still keen on going up.

Tony.
